Accessible Wilderness

At LOLTA, we strive to connect our business community with the resources they need to become accessible.

Regardless of age, health or ability, everyone should be able to enjoy the natural wonders that Ontario has to offer. That’s why Land O’ Lakes is the “Accessible Wilderness”.

We pride ourselves on meeting Ontario’s Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, which make doing business in the Land O’ Lakes region easier for customers and business owners. We also offer tourism opportunities with your unique needs in mind. Whether staying for business or pleasure, we’ll help make your Land O’ Lakes adventure as easy, safe and fun as possible.

One of the most travel paddle routes in our area is accessible to all with a support person. The best access point for this route is the lagoon within Bon Echo Park but also the public boat access at Tappings Landing at #371 North Mazinaw Heights Road. Obtain a day permit at Bon Echo Provincial Park entrance for launching canoes/kayaks from the lagoon.

Our commitment is to be accessible to all visitors. Contact our member businesses for more details on how they make the wilderness truly accessible.

Our businesses are working hard to become accessible to persons with disabilities. Look for these symbols to identify the degree of accessibility:

[Partially Accessible] These businesses are accessible with a support person and are generally on-grade or have ramps to their doorways. Doorways are minimum 34″ wide. Wheelchair accessible washrooms may be available if washrooms are normally provided to the public.

[Fully Accessible] These businesses are fully accessible and welcome persons with disabilities.
