At Bon Echo Park you can experience over 260 Aboriginal pictographs, many great hiking trails, canoeing and kayaking, boat tours of Mazinaw Lake, and interior camping sites that offer a true escape from the urban sprawl.
Venturing South to Frontenac Park you will find a back country paradise with 5,200 hectares of land ripe for exploring and navigating far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Explore canoe routes through 22 different lakes, or drop a line in the water and reel in some amazing fish! You can also go snowshoeing or cross country skiing in the winter season. Of course a trip to Frontenac Park wouldn’t be complete without pitching the old family tent and spending a night under the beautiful stars of the South Frontenac area.
Heading north to Silver Lake you will find just great car-camping adventures waiting for you and your family! This park is great for beginners offering all of natures best within walking distance of your vehicle. Great fishing and swimming is never a bad choice when venturing to Silver Lake for a weekend getaway.
Heading west you will discover Sharbot Lake where you can again park your car and be nice and close to nature without having to worry about feeling ‘lost’ in the wilderness. Canoeing and fishing are family favorites, along with great nature trails on site for hiking and exploring. The park also boast some of the greatest facilities in Ontario, and some of the best staff around. Located right on Hwy 7 it is the perfect family getaway just a short drive from Ottawa.
